Another Friday Night
Is it Friday again? I suppose it is.
I'm not sleeping well. Last night, I got 3 hours of sleep (and that was with ibuprofen (which normally knocks me out), benadryl, and melatonin). The night before, it was 4 hours of sleep. Spoiler: Seven hours of sleep in two days is not enough.
My patient this week was a man who found out that no good deed goes unpunished. He'll be in the hospital for a long time, then he has a long road to recovery ahead of him. I picked him from the list because he was easy and I needed an easy patient this week. It was fine taking care of him, but I'm glad to be done and moving on. So there's that.
I have a weekend of work ahead of me. After clinicals today, I had to come home, work on my clinical assignment, then do three of four online exams. One was due tonight, three are due by Monday, but I wanted to get as much done as possible because I have to prepare a presentation for class on Monday and I have a huge exam--one week before the final exam--in pharmacology. (If I ever get my hands on the person who made up the exam schedule for this term, I will go to jail for torture and likely murder. You know those guys who kidnap women and keep them chained up in their basement for years, starving them and torturing them? Kind of like that, but with less mercy.) After I finished three of the four online exams, I took a nap, about ninety minutes. Dave had gone out for a beer with a former co-worker and he woke me up (at my request) when he came home. We went to dinner--Japanese tonight--and then for giant fizzy drinks.
When we came home, I finished my clinical assignment and sent it in. Now I'm ready for some down time.
