So (Day #15)

Don't even ask me about sleep.

I've been having the strangest dreams, too. Disturbing. Not restful.

Today I sewed most of the day away. I made a 21x21 inch envelope pillow case out of half-square triangles sewn from the cut-down yardage I bought at the quilt shop along with some other fabrics I've had for a long time.  I chenilled some pre-cut 5-inch squares and made a small zippered pencil case backed with denim. I sewed a small tote with French seams and handles to put a Christmas gift in. I practiced sewing curved, pieced seams (they bend my brain) and made another quilt block. I started making random quilt blocks in a modified pinwheel pattern. In the afternoon, some things I ordered from Craftsy arrived (5-inch precut blocks in 30's reproduction fabric and a small amount of organic cotton batting) so after we got home from our evening errands, I opened up the precut blocks and sewed up some half-square triangles. All day long, I cut fabric down and I sewed and sewed and sewed.

So.

Dave spent the day with his mother and sister getting some things sorted. When he came home (bearing giant fizzy drinks! yay!), he fed the pups and Gray Kitty and then we went out to dinner at the Japanese place. (Ramen is his reward for a hard day.) He had promised Paul some help with setting up his new router, so after dinner we went to Paul and Judi's house. I whiled away some time chatting with Judi and working on my new sculpture out in the studio and surreptitiously feeding Crunch dog biscuits whenever Judi wasn't looking.

We came home via Trader Joe's which wasn't terribly busy. Dave had to get some things to take to his mother's house for their Christmas dinner and we also picked up some milk and yogurt, chocolate (of course) and a few other things. On the way home we shared a Ritter sports bar, the one with the biscuit in the middle, which are my second favorite kind. My absolute favorite kind has cornflakes in it, but you can never find those anywhere.

At home, we put everything away and I sat down to sew again. That lasted about forty-five minutes until I was too tired to think clearly so I got ready for bed, which is where I am now, cuddled up with two pups who are loudly chewing their toys.

Today's lipstick(s): LUSH lipstick in the shade Ambition (they say it's "fire-engine red," but it reads very orange on me, blah) and NARS Semi-matte lipstick in the shade Scarlet Empress (they say it's "rich blue red" but it's straight up wine colored on me, meh).
