#24 New Year's Day

I was up until 3:30 in the morning. Got back to sleep around 10 a.m. Got up again around 10:50. Back to sleep around 12:45. Up again around 2:00 p.m.

Insomnia is fun!

When I finally got up for the day, I got in the shower and got ready. (My lipstick today was a double shot: Wet n' Wild Liquid Catsuit in the shade Goth Topic (a near black plum) and NYX Matte Lipstick in the shade Classic Red.)

Then I started sewing a curtain for our small front window. We've been using a scarf as a kind of makeshift curtain for awhile, and so instead of measuring the window, I pulled the scarf off the curtain rod and measured it. As I was cutting the fabrics for the curtain (a yellow-green and gray print lined with a shot cotton in red), Dave came home. He had gone off to spend part of the afternoon with his mother.

I started hemming the curtain and got partway done before we decided to go out for fizzy drinks. When we got home, Dave heated up some posole for himself and some menudo for me for our dinner while I finished the curtain.

It came out decently, I think. The gray print is pretty quiet even if the yellow-green background is not. We'll live with it awhile and see how we like it.
