Winter

I had my second of two varicella vaccinations yesterday and I woke up with a sore throat this morning. I felt feverish and sweaty. Typical live vaccination stuff.  I also had the TB test administered yesterday and I have to return on Thursday to have it read.

I drove to school in the dark.

It was dark and gloomy all morning. At 9:30 a.m., during lecture, I glanced out the window and saw that the lights in the parking lot were still on. It rained a bit while I was in class. I was sorry to've missed it, but I did come out of the building to the wonderful smell of rain and tiny puddles sprinkled along the path to the parking lot. It's the first rain we've had in over three months.

This morning's lecture was a double header: Breast cancer followed by arterial blood gases. Fun stuff. Beats yesterday's lecture(s): Leukemia and colon cancer.

I came home and had to complete a host of online training modules from the hospital where I start my rotation next Thursday. We're supposed to complete them a week before we start and they emailed us about them yesterday, leaving us one day to complete them. Jerks. I came home and ate my lunch and did the modules.

I'm exhausted. I'm sure it's from my immune system freaking out over the sudden influx of viruses, however weakened. I want to sleep--but instead I have to study for an exam I have in the morning. I also have to look over some assessment guidelines for a few things. Friday we have some check-offs to complete before we head off to the clinical sites.

In the afternoon, I managed a nap. Dave came home and made dinner (masoor dal, quinoa, and broccolini). I did the dishes. Now I'm trying to get up the energy to study for tomorrow morning's exam, which I will be taking in exactly 12 hours.

I just want to go back to bed...
