Friday evening Dave and I went to the studio to get some work done (and more puppy time). Buzz came out and Dave gave him the new toy that we bought for him and he (Buzz) used it to entice Dave to come out and play for awhile. (I stayed inside and chatted with Judi and worked on my sculpture.) Judi and Paul were going out to dinner, so we promised to put Buzz back in the house before we left so that he could stay out with us in the studio for awhile longer. He follows Dave around endlessly. They are best pals.

I worked on painting the old-school tattoo roses at the base.

And I painted the eyes of this piece with Gerstley borate which will go somewhat glossy. I like the clouded over appearance it has before it's fired.

Saturday we went out for Japanese food for lunch (I had unagi and Dave had curry) and then we went back to the studio in the afternoon. I'm working on my big calavera. She came out of the last kiln quite...lackluster. So I'm spiffing her up with some glazes.
Sunday, yesterday, I was feeling the way I do when the storms roll in. (There were two storms, my period and an actual rainstorm.) When that happens, my head gets fuzzy and feels too big on the interior and my body starts to do weird things. In the evening,Dave went out to his mother's house. His father and sister are in town and they were all having dinner together. While he was out, the electricity went out, too. Before that happened, I sewed a bit, the interior of a new handbag. I also took a shower and changed into clean pajamas. Leaving the house is overrated.

I don't think I showed the last bag I sewed, the too-big bag. I like it, but it is too big, more like a book bag than a handbag. The one I'm sewing now is going to be smaller. (How could it not be?) To make it I used the remnants of the navy denim that I used to make my brother's messenger bag mixed with some cheap near-canvas that I bought for about $3 a yard at Walmart when I first started sewing. That was the first time I've done that style of zipper and I was proud of myself, but now I'm like, eh. The zipper itself needs to be more substantial. The zipper is orange because the interior of the bag is orange. (It's what I had and I like a bright, solid color for bag interiors. It makes things much easier to find.)
We had had a takeout lunch (pizza for Dave and a veggie sub for me and a shared salad), so for my own dinner I finished off the salad and ate a slice of Dave's pizza. Then I had a pear because the two pears I got last week are on the way out. (They are very, very ripe.) Then I got in bed with my laptop and read quilting blogs and watched quilting tutorials.
In gross bodily news: The toenail that I bruised while working in the ER is separating from the nail bed. Unfortunately, it's only half the nail, so it's pretty sore now. I hope it reattaches as it grows out because otherwise I'm going to be minus a toenail (or half a toenail). I know that long-distance runners lose toenails all the time from running in poorly fitting shoes, but I'm not keen on the idea.
