It's Tuesday.
What's been going on? Really, not much.
I've been doing my daily, 365 quilt square. Last night's was about the headaches I got all day, so that was exciting. I'm not sure what was causing the headaches. Could be from the storms moving over the city, my blood pressure, hormones/perimenopause, Covid, low blood sugar, allergies, dry sinuses, lack of caffeine, lack of sleep--or any combination of those things. I mean, you name it. Your guess is as good as mine.
But today I'm feeling better, so that is a plus.
I have been reading quite a bit. I finished the last Bill Bryson (In a Sunburned Country) and then picked up and finished The Cage of Zeus by Sayuri Ueda. Now I'm reading Barack Obama's Dreams from My Father. I love Barack, but this book is a bit much. He wrote it when he was in his early 20s and it reads like a cinderblock. There's no breathing room in it. Still, it's interesting and I'll finish it. I also got online and ordered used copies of three more Bill Bryson books. I seem to be on a Bill Bryson kick at the moment.
I'm also continuing to write my morning pages. I've nearly filled up a 100 page composition book (I only write on one side of the page, though). It's interesting what comes up when I write three pages a day first thing. (And by first thing, I mean after I get up, go to the bathroom, make coffee, clear off my desk, etc. But it's definitely within 20-25 minutes of waking up usually.)
We're still eating our vegan diet, but our vegan mojo has slipped somewhat. Last night we had vegan tacos (blue corn taco shells, seasoned meatless "grounds," crema made with tofu sour cream and lemon juice, guacamole, salsa, tomatoes, red cabbage and cilantro). The night before...what did we have? Oh, I made tofu-don using firm tofu, sauteed with a teriyaki-ish sauce served over white rice with negi and wasabi. Dave added shredded cabbage to his. We also had tomatoes and cucumbers with vegan mayo on the side. It was plain and good and hit the spot. (Of course I haven't eaten white rice in a long, long time, and that stuff is basically rice-shaped sugar. Not very healthy, but very, very tasty.)
Today is a lazy day. Dave is also having a lazy day as most of his coworkers have gone on some retreat to the boss's lake house. The lake happens to be the same lake from the movie On Golden Pond. (Dave's coworker told him "it's that Robert Redford movie." So I guess we've lived long enough to see Robert Redford morph into an elderly Henry Fonda. I don't know who has it worse in that scenario, Robert Redford, Henry Fonda, or those of us who know the difference between Robert Redford and Henry Fonda.)
Okay. Enough screen time.
See you around.
