Crazy Things

This is (a terrible photo of) the new quilt:
David was holding it up for me in our little casita, so I couldn't get a full photo. But it's not much bigger than this. (It's a small twin sized quilt.) It's backed with purple flannel (very similar in color to the dusky purple half-square triangles) that has been in my stash for many years and which I bought originally to sew a robe for myself (before realizing that my garment sewing was going to stall at making pajama pants and simple A-line skirts). Anyway, it's been used now. Yesterday afternoon, I finished sashing the pieces together then put the binding on. I had been leaning toward calling this quilt "What the hell was she thinking?" but in the end, I decided to go with "MOJO."

And here's our crazy Gray Kitty, just being himself.
And here are some photos I found on my camera of the praying mantises that came to visit a few weeks ago.
That brown one and this green one, who waited very patiently there on the side of the hummingbird feeder. S/he just wanted to make the acquaintance of some tasty little bees, I'm sure.

(Dave had to move her when the feeder needed to be filled and she flew off into the garden.)

Therapy this afternoon. I definitely want a nap before that. It's 9 a.m. now, so if I lay down now, I can get a good seven hour nap in before then.
