New Year
Dave and I spent new year's day at urgent care after an accident left me with a fractured tailbone and minor concussion.
There was a 72-hr window to monitor the concussion which was over this afternoon, but the tailbone may take up to the months to heal fully. It is still quite painful and I have trouble sitting for extended periods or changing positions or lying down in a way that puts pressure in that area.
I also strained my neck and shoulders and hurt the palms of my hands, so that's no fun either.
I haven't done very much in the days since. I've been trying to get a lot of rest to promote healing. I've watched a lot of Netflix (Heartstopper and Old Enough!). When I am sitting, I have been working in my art journal with my new art supplies (though the pain from sitting and the strain it causes to my neck and shoulders means I have to limit my time).
So that's my new year so far. Hopefully yours has been better.

OMG, what a way to start the new year! I'm so sorry you are in pain. I few 2 years ago In Japan while visiting and broke a rib. So I FEEL your pain. Take care and rest. Hope recovery goes quickly.
Laura
Thanks Laura! That must have been a very painful trip with a broken rib! Ouch!
Oh gosh! I haven't been reading other blogs for a bit, and just found this out. Yikes. I'm so sorry to hear about this.
I'm glad that your concussion watch is over, but the tailbone thing...yikes. My mother had that and always talked about how much pain she was in at the time.
I hope you recover quickly. Enjoy Netflix. One day I might get it too, but I'd have to give another platform up, so not yet.
New Years here has mostly been okay....
Get well soon...
