Birds

I am not sleeping well, but that is not news.

A stoic little bird has made a little nest under the eaves of the porch. She has been sitting there for much of the day. We're hoping for a little bird family soon. I can't wait.

The cranes have moved on, but that means that the hummingbirds will soon be back. We need to clean and fill our feeders as the early migrating ones should be coming through soon.

I just finished filling out online paperwork for my new, entirely online therapist. It's never ending, therapy. That's fine. I'm 100% okay with that.

I've continued to binge watch old episodes of Seinfeld. I'm up to season eight of nine right now. George's fiance has just died from licking the toxic glue on the cheap envelopes of their wedding invitations. Jerry has just ended his engagement to a woman who he only loved because she was exactly like him. She was played by Janeane Garofalo. Elaine, I don't remember, something about her job as a J. Peterman catalogue writer (yes, the company still exists and those catalogues are something else).

Here is a bit from the current J. Peterman online catalogue, information copied from under the "details" heading for a two hundred dollar caftan:

Tidings of Comfort and Joy.

Evenings in November, December.

Smartly dressed men and women coming in from the cold, gathering around a crackling fire. Soon they’re laughing, conversing, listening to Erroll Garner.

This velvet caftan makes you feel right at home.

Enticing, but nothing obvious. Rich, subtle glows along the folds keep emerging and subsiding with every move you make. (Kimono-style sleeves sliding up and down your arms, glimpses of leg through the side slits.)

Time it will take you to become this entirely different person: approximately five seconds.

I mean, who wouldn't want that caftan? You could be an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT PERSON for the monetary equivalent of approximately one and three quarters online therapy sessions.

Funny, that exact episode was on TV the other day. I've always had a soft spot for Janeane Garofalo, great actress.

Hi Kelly! Have you seen Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee with Jerry Seinfeld? I think you'd enjoy it if you like his show.
