Five days ago:
Our little friend Buzzy went home yesterday. Two weeks was a long time with two dogs in the house. We were all ready for things to get back to normal.
I spent the afternoon vacuuming and mopping our tile floors. It was pretty gross after having two unruly boy dogs in the house. I had to empty the vacuum canister three times and the mop water six times (though Dave did the last two). The floors look good now though, so that's good.
I was too tired to cook and Dave had an afternoon of errands bookended by work, so we ended up getting takeout for dinner. I had
Today's goals were to get some laundry done and clean off the kitchen island counter and scrub the sink. I got a tiny bit of laundry done (still have to fold one load and there's another load in the dryer right now), but I did get the island cleared off and the sink scrubbed with bleach. Tomorrow I'll clean the dining room and vacuum the dining room rug (it's where both dogs preferred to take their treats to crunch them up, so it's covered with dog treat crumbs). I would have done it today but I had to wash out the filters for the vacuum and they have to dry before they can be used again.
After that, I should clean bathrooms. I don't want to though.
Our Costco order arrived today, too. We ordered a bunch of paper goods (kleenex, toilet paper, paper towels--we used so many paper towels cleaning up after two dogs) and snacks.

I ended up at the clinic again and it was okay, maybe, though I continue to feel under the weather. I suspect that my body is fighting off some kind of infection, but it's low level. I went the next day to have my mother listen to my lungs and they are mostly clear, which is good.
I haven't been sleeping well and was up most of the night. I set up a bed on the sofa and binge watched the second season of Heartbreaker through the night. I managed to get a bit of sleep in the morning.

It was my birthday. I had wanted to take some kind of trip, even an overnight one, but we didn't end up doing it. Instead, I had a very low key birthday at home. Dave got me some wonderful presents, including a birdbath with colorful Talavera designs on it and a drop-leaf cutting table for my sewing area. I had some lovely birthday wishes and gifts from friends and family, too. We went out for a donut (split a triple chocolate cake donut and an apple fritter) for breakfast, went to see my mother for a visit, then had barbecue for lunch. I ended up skipping dinner and going to bed really early because I haven't been feeling well, but it was a nice, quiet day otherwise.
Yesterday:
Dave was out most of the day running errands. I stayed home and showered then hunkered down on the couch watching videos. My temp has been up a degree or sometimes two, but nothing major. I just feel tired. Last night I had a few hives and spots that threatened to turn into hives and an itchy feeling all over. I've been rinsing my nose out with saline twice a day, which is a special kind of awful. It is better for my nose but makes me feel really weird and overwhelmed.
We had changed the food in the hummingbird feeders on my birthday and from my space on the couch I could see the hummingbirds coming and going, chasing each other around. There are three who come to visit regularly and I suspect two of them are either siblings or somehow related (maybe they're married?) because they seem to tolerate each other's presence well (hummingbirds are very territorial) and they both chase the third around.
Today:
I slept a bit throughout the night and got up way too early. I made coffee and watered the plants on the patio (which Dave usually does, but I was up). I made some hummingbird food. Dave got up, fed Chance and Gray Kitty and took Chance for a walk. He changed out the hummingbird feeders. We spent some time cleaning up a bit. I disassembled my bed on the sofa, put away the quilts and all the detritus that had accumulated on the coffee table. (I may return to it tonight. I'm not sure.) Dave vacuumed the dining room rug and cleaned off the table.
We just finished having lunch (leftovers) and I came to sit down for a bit. It's 12:34 p.m. (I like it when I catch numbers like that). Too early for pajamas?

Happy Belated birthday! I hope it was good. Too bad that you got sick at the end.
Good luck with all the cleaning too. It's too hot here to clean, at least that is my excuse!
Thanks, Helen!
It's always too hot to clean--except when it's too cold! Lol.
Hope you're having a great week. :D
