Dots For Dollars
I like photographing my work in its birthplace, my studio space, its natural habitat.
Here is a bowl surrounded by the detritus of the creative process, newspaper (lots of newspaper), 44 oz. drinks (preferably caffeinated), the plastic cups and spoons I use when glazing.
Here is some detail from that bowl.
Here, too.
This bowl uses some of the satin-finish glazes that recently became available at the studio where I work. I like their flat invariability. I applied the glaze by pouring, and with a paint brush, and with a metal-tipped squeeze bottle. The design was inspired by the Aboriginal art I wrote about recently, but it also draws on my own educational background in biology.
