Recent Event-ish Things

That is the last bite of a $4 two-day brownie. Or so I call them because they cost $4 and they take two days to eat--which is a record, a brownie lasting two days in my presence. I think the guy who makes them (and sells them via a food truck, Oz Patisserie, that parks near Dave's office) calls them triple-chocolate brownies. The guy apparently got a little huffy when Dave asked him for one of the brownies with the inch of frosting on top. "It's ganache," he corrected.

That brownie was my little lifeline this week, as I am into my third week of PMS symptoms. Which sucks.

I'm also having a bit of a struggle with my blood pressure, which has been in the high-normal range on and off for the last month. I'm thinking I may need to go to the doctor soon. Which sucks.

Let's see what else has been going on...

There's ground yak for sale at the co-op where we do our shopping. I've never eaten yak, but oddly Dave the vegetarian has (on a recent visit to a Nepalese (?) restaurant in Minnesota, where it was served to him accidentally--or so he says).

So there's that.

I've also been throwing lots and lots at the studio. Throwing is easier than handbuilding by far. It's also easier than cleaning out my studio space, which I have to do soon or else risk dying in some Collyer brothers-like accident.

What have I been throwing? Well, I've recently become obsessed with hiding in plain sight kind of things, so yesterday I threw two vases with compartments in them. It's hard to explain, but it's a closed form, open to the bottom, inside a vase. That doesn't make much sense, does it? I'll try to include a picture next time.

Need to lay low on the sodium and caffeine, I think, and get more vitamin B and exercise! Seems to be helping me--and I'm not going bald. Yet.
