There's a Gabriel Garcia Marquez story that I love called "Eyes of a Blue Dog" That link leads to the full short story, which you should read because it's awesome, but even if you don't read it, read the opening lines:
Then she looked at me. I thought that she was looking at me for the first time. But then, when she turned around behind the lamp and I kept feeling her slippery and oily look in back of me, over my shoulder, I understood that it was I who was looking at her for the first time. The story is a lot more serious than my little cartoony drawing though. Just be warned.
And here is my bit of strangeness:
A little Geena Davis-ish, no?
And here is my attempt to recreate a painting called Figura Humana by Rufino Tamayo:
Attempt #1
Attempt #2--I think is better, no? But the Crayola watercolors lack the intensity of oil paints I think.
Anyway, it's been a lazy day today. I cannot get my mojo rolling. I went to sleep too late and got up too early and even after 4 cups of coffee and two sodas and a nap, I still feel wiped out. Now I'm just laying in bed, surfing the net and half-watching Bachelorette, the Rebel Wilson film. (It's mean and funny and I like it so far.)
