Bad Math! Bad!

How We Do:

Here we go: If I get a 66% on the final, that is, if I only miss 34 out of 100 questions (a real possibility, given how much I've studied!) then I get an A in the class. If I skip the final completely, sleep in and then go out and get pancakes for breakfast while all those other suckers sweat over 100 questions about anatomy and physiology, and I take a zero on my exam, I get a B in the class.  At this point, given my current points, there is no way that I can get less than a B in the class. (The final is only worth 14% and I'm going into it with a mid-level A in the class.)

I should probably not do this kind of math before the exam. But such is my way.

(I remember once, the night before an immunology final, I figured out before starting an all-nighter cram session, that I only needed to score a 40%--a low F--on the final to keep my A. So I read through my notes one time and then went to bed and got a good night sleep. I ended up with a high B on the final and an A in the class.)

But now I have a little bit of calculating to do--and a decision to make about how to spend the next 48 hours before the final.

In Other News:

Did I mention that I fell? About a week ago I rolled my ankle and fell down in the parking lot at the grocery store. It wasn't a horrible fall (I got up and drove home) and my ankle, knee and wrists that I banged up are back at about 100% again almost. But my hip refuses to start getting better. It still hurts most of the time and it gets worse when I sit or lie down for very long. So naturally I went to see the doctor. I couldn't get in with my usual doctor, Dr. Shmoo, so I saw some other guy.

I had x-rays done to check for a break or crack in any bones (there was none) and was told that I probably just have some deep bruising. Take ibuprofen and either ice it down or heat it up, whichever feels better and try not to fall down any more. (Yes, he said that.) Great. Thanks. That'll be $200, please.

I'm not sure what I was looking for, answer-wise. But I don't feel like I really got seen by a doctor, you know.

To Study or Not to Study?

What would you do?

Depends if there is anything on TV that I wanted to watch, or not. I'd probably at least read through my notes. I didn't study a lot for finals either. I always meant to, but never got around to it. Did okay...no regrets. Up to you!

I dislike seeing doctors here because we only are seen for about 2 minutes and it is out the door with our prescription because you gotta have drugs, don't you know. I've told F that he might want to warn one of the doctor's workers not to touch me because she keeps grabbing my clothes when the doctor wants to listen to my chest. I am quite capable of lifting my own shirt, tyvm..... I'm plotting grievous bodily harm to her, I really am!

Good luck on the test!

Hi, Mom! That's probably what I'll do. :)

Hi, Helen!

I hear you. There's a few things I have to memorize to avoid embarrassing myself, but I think otherwise I'm not going to stress out about it.

I wish my doctor's visit had been that thorough. I've gotten used to my usual doc who sits down and talks and you have time with him. The guy I saw today rushed in, talked the whole time, didn't ask if I had any questions, and then rushed out again. It was kind of frustrating!

I would be irked if someone tried to lift my clothes off at the doctor's office! Maybe I would let the doctor adjust my clothing if he needed to, but a nurse or assistant? No way! Rude. Can F teach you how to say, "I can do it myself, thanks!" in a kind of...not so nice way? That might be enough to get her off your back--literally!
