Another Thursday
Today is the day that I have to stop dilettante studying and start really studying for the next round of exams. I've got two on Monday, one in the A&P class (that I can't decide about yet) and one in the pathophysiology class (that I'm going to finish come hell or high water).
This time around, it's a whirlwind tour through the urinary system, endocrine system, and something else that I haven't looked at yet and haven't gone to the lectures for. I wonder. Whatever it is, I'll have a glancing knowledge of it by Monday, enough to take a multiple choice exam and get a B (probably).
It was a quiet day yesterday. I spent it at home, doing little things round the house, but mostly reading. I did get a package from Amazon, a study guide for the nursing school entrance exam I may be taking soon. I've also been thinking about applying to physicians assistants schools, but I need to have something like 400-700 hours of clinical time before I can even apply--and rumor is that those hours are preferably unpaid hours. Which: Really? But we'll see.
I got to bed fairly early, around 11:00, after finishing my book (a re-times 300?-reading of These Happy Golden Years by Laura Ingalls Wilder) and reading a bit more in the Jim Gaffigan book.
I slept in a bit this morning--8:30--got up, had breakfast and coffee and then got right to studying. I have so much to cover! I studied for a couple of hours, showered, then went back to studying. I had a very late lunch of some yogurt and blueberries and pasta with olive oil and cheese grated on top. (I probably need to eat a vegetable sometime today.)
In the afternoon, I went out to check the garden and ended up watering. It was about 100 degrees and some of the plants were a bit wilted. I actually remembered to put on sunscreen today, which is not my usual MO. I usually just opt for staying indoors, to be honest.
I had an early dinner (the leftover pasta with an egg on top, frozen edamame) and went back to studying.
If I ever use the words "summer school" again, shoot me.
