As it was, I did great on chemistry (98%)--and biology (100%)--and everything else, actually. My composite score was 97%.
(The lowest score, believe it or not, was in reading comprehension because it was all done online. Turns out I have a hard time processing information that I read online. I mean, I read a lot of stuff on the computer, but none of it is stuff that I'm going to be tested on to some degree of detail. If it had been on paper, I would have been just fine.)
Anyway, after I finished the exam, I called Dave to pick me up then I went into the student lounge and thought I'd reward The Brain with some glucose-laded treat from the vending machines. But this was a surprise:

I was very happy to see one of the old coffee dispensing machines.
Back in the day--almost 20 years ago?!--there was one of these in the science and engineering library where I used to study. That machine was my lifeline, as Starbucks weren't the ubiquitous entities they are now. (Now there are two Starbucks that I know of on the university campus, one inside the main library, one inside the bookstore.) Anyway, I decided I would treat myself to a sugary, milky decaf coffee made by machine, so I put 75 cents in and got a cup filled with murky water. Another 55 cents for a different drink netted me one-third of a cup of milky water. So I left both cups on the machine as warning to others and instead I bought a Twix bar (ate a bite, tossed the rest).
Dave picked me up and we went for a banh mi lunch, then I came home. I skipped lecture because of my headache. Did I mention that my headache never went away, all through the test. It was my companion until I got a post-lunch nap in.
After my nap, Dave and I went up to the studio and did a bit of work. I underglazed bones. Dave glazed.

I love the cleavage shadow on her sternum--but I can't decide if her ribs are too narrow. I'm inclined to thicken them up, but I wanted to walk away from it for a bit so I could come back and see with new eyes before I make a decision.

Great exam results!
Sorry about your headache. I hope you are feeling better now.
The old style coffee machines! Too cool. Sorry it didn't work. The ones in Japan usually do work...I've had some pretty decent drinks out of them.
I like your sculpture, but I always agree with having a fresh look at something. I hope you work it out.
Have a great day!
Hi, Helen!
Thanks!
Those old machines are few and far between these days, what with Starbucks opening on every corner! I never ran into that type in Japan, just the vending machines that dispensed the hot canned drinks. Those were pretty trippy! (Though I guess you've been in JP long enough that they just seem perfectly ordinary to you.)
That sculpture is coming along. I don't have any idea what to do with her when I'm finished (if I'm ever finished), but I like working on her. :D
Have a great week!
