It's been a run of days.
Several members of my family were sick. My brother was back in the hospital since I last posted. My mother has been sick and passed it on to my brother. Dave's mother also got sick. Another cousin was in the hospital.
Thanksgiving happened. (We stayed home and had mac and cheese. Dave also made pastry which we had for dessert three days in a row.)
I got a new computer after dropping my old one onto my ankle, bashing my ankle and wrecking the computer's screen.
My mother has a new apartment and is moving this weekend.
I feel like...a lot of things. But mostly I am tired. I am really, really tired.
The sun sets before 5:00 p.m. these days. We are in complete darkness soon after. It's depressing.
Monday I had the appointment with the audiologist who agrees that the tinnitus I've been experiencing needs to be evaluated by an ENT. The audiology clinic at the nearby hospital has appointments at the end of January and I could not schedule with an ENT until after that point, so I made an appointment with a private clinic and only had to wait about a month. The ENT clinic can see me next week. Hopefully they will have some idea of how to find out what is going on with my ear.
I read an ENT recently noting that since Covid began there has been an uptick in the number of tinnitus cases he sees. Other ENTs chimed in to say the same. The implication is that either Covid or the Covid vaccine is contributing. (The vaccine is
My brother just texted me a minute ago to tell me that the covid test he just took is positive. His test was expired (though they have updated the expiration dates) so he's going to take another test.
I'm so fucking tired.

This has also happened to a friend of mine. She has had sever tinnitus and had to see an audiologist. Some of the parts inside of her ear have been damaged and she may need a hearing aid but is doing some therapy at the moment to help with the tinnitus. I really hope that your specialist can help you as it is not pleasant. I really feel for you. I hope things ease up soon!
Thanks, Kelly. I'm sorry to hear about your friend. Tinnitus is awful. I've known people who live with it for decades. I just don't want to be one of them!
I really hope you won't be! xx
