Stuff That's Going On
This is one of our new friends, this little daisy-ish plant with one glorious bloom (so far).
What's been going on? So much. I don't know where to begin--or even if I want to begin.
It's been thundering a lot and spitting raining on and off all afternoon. The thunder turns the dog into a basket case. So that's been fun.
We had soup for dinner, made with a leftover vegetable dish from a couple of days ago. (Lunch was leftover pizza that my mother brought over when she and my brother came for lunch on Sunday.)
We've had a bit of company lately, which is nice. We've had lunch on the patio with Grace one day, Judi (and Buzz) another, and my mother and brother twice. (Pizza, barbecue, pizza/subs/salad, pizza/subs/salad, in that order, in case you were wondering).
I've been sewing: I'm about a third of the way through sashing together the (quilted) black and brown quilt blocks (shown a few blog entries ago), sewed up twenty blocks that will make up a Christmas quilt for Dave's mother, and, as a side project, have begun another quilt made from crumb blocks and a pack of 10-inch squares in solid colors from one of Tula Pink's collections. I also have some flannel that Grace brought over and asked me to use it to make her a pair of pajama shorts (it's a little less than a yard, so it won't stretch itself to make pajama pants). I have yet to start on those.
While I sew (not actively sew, because the sewing machine is too loud), but mostly iron or cut fabric, I listen to stuff on Netflix. I finished all of Greenleaf and FUBAR (so cheesy) as well as Twins and We're The Millers.
I've also been making lots of doctors' appointments. Sigh. And I'm on supplemental oxygen for the time being, hopefully just temporarily because it sucks. It's nice to be sufficiently oxygenated, but it still sucks.

Are you okay? Is it the smoke in the air from Canada bothering you? I just YouTubed an ABC news report where they were blaming Canada for the smoke from the wildfires. (I don't think we're doing it on purpose...we'd rather have NO wildfires, ta very much!)
It probably wouldn't help as 1 yard of flannel isn't much to make pajama bottoms with, but one of my favourite pairs of flannel pajama bottoms has a stretchy side piece down each side. It means that they fit really well and are comfortable. As you know, flannel doesn't have much give, so this really helps! Or...patchwork pants? ;-)
Hope things go better soon!
Hi Helen! We're working toward figuring out whatever's going on with my health, which sadly is not great at the moment. Luckily we're not getting much smoke from the wildfires in Canada. It's pretty scary up there though. I feel for the people and animals in the midst of the fire and smoke. It's terrible.
That's actually a really good idea to add stretchy panels to the sides. Thanks! I may add some to my own pajamas....
I'm sorry you're going to have to deal with F's mom so long on your own. I can't imagine that's going to be easy. Maybe his sister can take her off your hands for awhile? I mean, that is her mother, too, right?
Sigh! We'll all make it through our ordeals somehow!
