#30 Sigh

Sigh.

A school friend texted me to ask about immunizations we need this year and I realized that I have to figure out a way to go this week and get my yearly TB test and the second varicella shot. (How did I miss getting the second of the series? Ay yi yi.) So there's that.

My sewing machine is put up, so of course I've only found about fifty things that I want to make, including a new Japanese style bag. Despite needing to get a jump on my reading for the start of classes, I want to drag out my sewing machine and sew some more--although maybe I should wait until I receive the nine yards or so of fabric I ordered this evening from an online store that was having a clearance sale. The fabric is called "Octopus's Garden" and it is a strange and brilliant floral and octopus print that will make a beautiful lining for a bag. (I love anything octopus related.)

We cleaned up around the casita in the afternoon. I scrubbed down the kitchen trash can, which never happens so it was kind of gross. And I swept up the kitchen. I also cleared out the clutter behind our armchair, which is where Dave was keeping newspaper for when we feed the worms. (It's probably better just to buy a newspaper every time he feeds the worms, rather than keeping two bags of newspaper around all the time.) I vacuumed and dusted... Dave worked on his nightstand and bookshelf, clearing off the clutter, and put some stuff away in the closet.

Then we made dinner (a frozen lasagna, broccolini sauteed in garlic and olive oil with red pepper and lemon) and sat down in front of an episode of The Great British Bake Off.

After dinner, I dragged my books out and started reading.

Sigh.

Good luck with going back to school!

That octopus fabric sounds very interesting. It almost sounds like you shouldn't just use it on the inside, that it should be on the outside of a bag.

Have a great week!
